About Us
SCARE for a CURE is a 100% volunteer organization in Central Texas that creates interactive haunted adventures while mentoring youth to raise money for Breast Cancer Resource Center and other local charities.

To establish a diverse community of volunteerism that develops skills and cultivates creativity for the greater good.
Our History
Born out of the ashes of legendary haunts Britannia Manor and Haunted Trails and raised from the infamous backyard haunt of local celebrity Jarrett Crippen, a.k.a. The Defuser, SCARE for a CURE’s talented, creative and fiendish crew of special effects artists, set builders, audio and lighting techs, costume designers, make up artists and actors work year-round alongside volunteers from community organizations throughout Central Texas to build the haunt bigger and better each year.
Over the last 17 years, SCARE For A CURE has raised $448,000 for the Breast Cancer Resource Center, awarded $29,500 in scholarships, and given over $15,000 to Manor ISD and other local charities for a Total of over $495,500 in community donations
In addition, SCARE For A CURE volunteers have collected thousands of pounds of pet food & canned goods for local shelters. Through tens of thousands of hours, our volunteers have fostered volunteerism & given back to our community. Being a part of this amazing family of volunteers allows each of us to make a greater impact in our community than any of us could have individually.
Our all-volunteer crew is passionate about Scaring and Caring. We do this to give back to the community.
