SCARE for a CURE is a non-profit organization. Net proceeds from the sale of tickets to our Austin haunted house and of SCARE merchandise are used to raise funds for charity.

2011 Charity Partner

We are thrilled that proceeds for 2011 will again benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas (BCRC), a non-profit, grassroots organization created by breast cancer survivors. In 2010, SCARE was proud to donate $20,000 to BCRC and we plan to increase that donation again, as we have for the last several years.

BCRC is a centralized source for breast cancer information, education and support. The BCRC and its five certified Patient Navigators serve women and men with breast cancer, their families, spouses, partners and friends; patients who have questions about screening and biopsy; and others who are concerned about breast cancer issues. The organization’s goal is to help the patient and her support system create an effective, positive and practical team approach to this diagnosis. BCRC provides support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

As SCARE for a CURE’s charity partner, BCRC volunteers will participate in fundraising activities for SCARE as well as the production and operation of the haunt.
