Charities
SCARE for a CURE is a non-profit organization. Net proceeds from the sale of tickets to our Austin haunted house and of SCARE merchandise are used to raise funds for charity.
2009 Charity Partner
We are excited that proceeds for 2009 will benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas (BCRC), a non-profit, grassroots organization created by breast cancer survivors.
BCRC is a centralized source for breast cancer information, education and support. The BCRC and its five certified Patient Navigators serve women with breast cancer, their families, spouses, partners and friends; women who have questions about screening and biopsy; and others who are concerned about breast cancer issues. The organization's goal is to help the woman and her support system create an effective, positive and practical team approach to this diagnosis. BCRC provides support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Phyllis Rose, BCRC's Volunteer Services Director, said, "Thank you all SO MUCH for everything you're doing to make this year's Blood Ritual a success!! What you all are doing for SCARE for a CURE will make such a difference in the lives of the more than 5000 women and families the BCRC serves each year. We really can't thank you enough!"
As SCARE for a CURE's charity partner, BCRC volunteers will participate in production of the haunt by feeding build crews and helping out on performance nights.
